What would be a good selection of flowers to plant in a Texas garden?

I’m a teen and I signed up for the whole “Nickelodeon’s The Big Help”. I pledged to plant a garden, so I thought about flowers in my front lawn. (My mom says it’s okay.) We want flowers that wont attract too many bugs, looks pretty, and is great with a medium sized lawn. What flowers would the expert gardeners recommend?
It’s around 90 degrees, and I want the flowers in the sun.

Check for native plants and use those. There are lots of wild flowers in Texas and they vary by region. Ask at a garden shop.

How to monetize a community garden?

I have worked to establish a large community garden with 20 gardeners. We are currently looking to start making money in order to have capital to start a second location that will be much larger, include animals, classes, and a store.

We currently have 8 acres we only use 1 acre. We thought about expanding to some high density beds and selling produce. What would be a some low maintenance, dense planting but high yield crops that we could sell?

What are some other ways to raise money to make this large expansion?
