The Tiarella Sea Foam, ‘Tiarella hybrid’, also known as Foamflower, is becoming one of the most popular shade perennials on the market today. ‘Sea Foam’ has deeply cut fuzzy green foliage. No other Tiarella has a better contrast in the leaf color. The highlights of black and purple patterns make it what it is. Best of all, the coloration is more intense during the winter months, not to mention being lightly fragrant. Cream flowers appear in the summer; however, Tiarella’s are not noted for their flowers.’Sea Foam’ has a plant height of 6-8″ and a plant spread of 14″ Tiarella will do best in full shade and need average to moist soil. Try planting this popular perennial with Lamium ‘White Nancy’, Hosta ‘Patriot’ or ‘Japanese Painted Fern’. They can be planted as a ground cover or mingled with other shade loving plants. PPAF
